Creator & engineer, Ostio Files
I’m Nour, which means light, and I’ve been trying to live up to the name.
I’m a senior software engineer, and I’m building Ostio Files: a keyboard-first file manager for macOS and Windows that you shape with extensions.
I care about shipping products that matter, making technology work for people, and automating what shouldn’t be manual. I try to leave every codebase better than I found it.
I’ve been building things since I was 16.
why
Why I’m building Ostio Files.
As a software engineer, I don’t just move between folders. I open files, edit them and preview them, and for a lot of that I end up downloading yet another tool.
So I’m building one place to do it all, from the keyboard. If I want to edit a PDF, that’s an extension. Play a video? Another extension. No new app to install.
